The Dark Abyss

This dark abyss

I know not

But sometimes

All too well

I do have

That frame of mind

But can you catch your fish

And hope it’s big?

The dark deep waters running

Still underneath your scars

The skin burns

Aching for more

I do not need anymore

Of this I cannot say

Will you be there today?

Where are you I ask

I ask again

Repeatedly get the same answer

I do not know

What it is this life

It stores and bursts

A balloon without air

I breathe and sink

Into the dark abyss

That loud bang

Of the window

Startles me

To know

This is just…

Finish that sentence

And I will let go

But a period less

Timeless phase

Electrifies those nerves

You can’t walk straight

Into this path

That was carved

The road ahead

Destiny and fate

Or a pile of choices

You hate

Being there

Over here

You can’t stay

Anywhere forever

You will go

Distance yourself from

Come back

Yes I am here

But wait

There I am

Sitting at the computer

Thinking

Of an end

But the means to it

Can you find

Yourself

But are you lost

In thought

Of who I am

Is of an eternal quest

For those things you crave

You must pay

A price

That’s worth

But who are you to judge

What you are swallowed by

Is not in your hand

Destiny it is

But only when you sift

Through the abyss

I flow

Sinking deep

Into the shadows

Sit outside

And lament

The part you can’t find

Is what you seek

A terrible pleasure

Or pain

While it whistles

Tickling your ears

Strands of hair

Fly away

Dandelion of dreams

Soft and white

But never seen

Or caught

And crushed in the hands

Or a cruel smile

Oh yes, there is a plan

To forge and fulfil

Will never be easy

To achieve that eternal desire

Of a breezy summer

With flowers and wind

You can sing

A tune caught in your memory

Plays throughout the night

As the water gushes in

I kick and squeal

To a terrible ringing

Alert now to the green and blue

Reflections of what I once knew

Of the dirty mud laden dregs

On the freshly born earth

Weeps a new tired heart

Filled with secrets

Are the pots of gold

Never enough to satisfy

Satiate the old hunger

With your mouth

And hands are required

To reach your endless pit

You must leave the bottom

Of your rock hard base

You rise

Into that abyss

You sink twice

Height of Randomness!

The apple was hot as a cake

I never knew I could bake

A crow shat on my head

My room's purple,even my bed

I sought some refuge

It started to pour

The rain at night

Is never a bore

The horse sat down

Thats funny coz they never do

the birds flew

Jumbled and scrambled

Do you like honey dew?

Biscuits and tea are served

Would you like milk or sugar?

I like my coffee cold

But my hand feels numb

Can you hear the thunder?

I wore a red dress

Never looked prettier

Oh yes, you are funnier

Have I been here before?

No ma'am, never

Can you sit in my chair?

Park the car downstairs

Will you be here on the 17th?

Yes, my calendar is free

Wait! The sun just set

Lets eat ice cream

The car is in the driveway

There is nobody on the swing

I like bubblegum when its pink

She told me a secret

But she told everyone else

Can you hoist a flag

And be a pirate too?

My bag is yellow

The flush doesn't work

My carpet's green

The fog and mist in your ear

The darkness unleashes

Anger and pain

A river of black blood flows

Constantly feeding on your fears

Fleas in your mind

Pluck at your remorse

Surviving the guilt and hatred

A crushed ant struggling to move

It all oozes out 

Until you cant move

Happiness contained

Momentary glances

You froze the ones you felt the most

But forget the ones that meant the most

A dawning light

Wet grass and hay

A dry spell of remembrance

You are what you frame

Capture that which you cherish

Erase what you fear

It isn't an alternate reality

For there is no alternate to reality

A truth untold

Submerged in the subconscience

The Mind

Blocked and walled
