Purple and small
The green grass stands tall
Hiding and protecting me from all
When the wind blew
You tasted my fragrance
But you refused
To acknowledge my presence.
How many feet have scurried by
How many stepped on my face
Even the bees and the butterflies
They never knew
And just like you
Not once stopped to see
What lay behind this grass-tree
how many hearts I have yearned to feel
how much pain I have concealed
not one soul desired to know
that I, too, am a part of this meadow.
Shrunken and shunned I fall
Behind the green grass that stands tall
Blocking me out from all
When the wind blows
You taste my fragrance
But you still refuse
To acknowledge my presence.

In the darkest day he came
Told me his sorrows
And shared his pain.
Tears streaming down his face
He longed for comfort and solace
A friendly smile
And a few soft words
Was all he wanted from this world.
At once I dropped myself
To his side
Until he began to smile.
At once his face lit up
Like the brightest star in the sky
Oh! What bliss it was to see
Such happiness in his life.
On his brightest day he left
No longer pained
By the sorrows that he felt
As he waved goodbye
He failed to see
That behind my smile
Was my own tear in my eye.
Told me his sorrows
And shared his pain.
Tears streaming down his face
He longed for comfort and solace
A friendly smile
And a few soft words
Was all he wanted from this world.
At once I dropped myself
To his side
Until he began to smile.
At once his face lit up
Like the brightest star in the sky
Oh! What bliss it was to see
Such happiness in his life.
On his brightest day he left
No longer pained
By the sorrows that he felt
As he waved goodbye
He failed to see
That behind my smile
Was my own tear in my eye.

The sun was smiling
The sky was clear
The birds were chirping like they knew no fear
Along came a little girl in rags
(and not to forget those gunny bags)
With a melody on her lips like
She had no worries in life
She went on and on
Until she came upon
A tree where little sobs that were
Filled with sorrow and pain could be heard.
She went around to see
What could be so melancholy
For the day was bright
With blinding light
And there by the roots of the tree
Sat a little dog full of weeps
The girl was agape
But managed to say-
“come here little dog
Don’t be afraid
For I mean no harm
And will keep you safe”
The fluffy do turned his fluffy head
His eyes big and round and scared
The girl picked him up and said
“don’t worry little doggie
My name is Amy”
The sun was frowning
The clouds had gathered
The birds were screaming
With a fit of fear
The little dog winced
And Amy said
“don’t worry little doggie
God is always there”
Tiny crystals from the sky
Fell upon them blinding their eyes
Amy ran as though she followed a guiding light
Until she saw her hut gleaming in the moonlight
She nursed her dog
And from that day on
They were an inseparable lot
One day Amy awoke
to find her doggie gone
she said to herself-“ oh well
he might have found his master
by whom he was looked after”
and with that she shed a bitter tear
but as she turned around
she found
a bunch of flowers on her bed
which her fluffy friend had kept with ail
and there he was wagging his tail!
The sky was clear
The birds were chirping like they knew no fear
Along came a little girl in rags
(and not to forget those gunny bags)
With a melody on her lips like
