The sun was smiling

The sky was clear

The birds were chirping like they knew no fear

Along came a little girl in rags

(and not to forget those gunny bags)

With a melody on her lips like

She had no worries in life

She went on and on

Until she came upon

A tree where little sobs that were

Filled with sorrow and pain could be heard.

She went around to see

What could be so melancholy

For the day was bright

With blinding light

And there by the roots of the tree

Sat a little dog full of weeps

The girl was agape

But managed to say-

“come here little dog

Don’t be afraid

For I mean no harm

And will keep you safe”

The fluffy do turned his fluffy head

His eyes big and round and scared

The girl picked him up and said

“don’t worry little doggie

My name is Amy”

The sun was frowning

The clouds had gathered

The birds were screaming

With a fit of fear

The little dog winced

And Amy said

“don’t worry little doggie

God is always there”

Tiny crystals from the sky

Fell upon them blinding their eyes

Amy ran as though she followed a guiding light

Until she saw her hut gleaming in the moonlight

She nursed her dog

And from that day on

They were an inseparable lot

One day Amy awoke

to find her doggie gone

she said to herself-“ oh well

he might have found his master

by whom he was looked after”

and with that she shed a bitter tear

but as she turned around

she found

a bunch of flowers on her bed

which her fluffy friend had kept with ail

and there he was wagging his tail!
